Change.

I was recently rewatching the movie American Hustle and came to a scene that’s always stuck with me: the one where Jennifer Lawrence’s character Rosalyn whispers in her thick Jersey accent to her soon-to-be lover, “I don’t like change. It’s really hard for me.” Every time I watch her coo those words I sigh and think to myself, me too, babe, me too. I don’t like change either. But life is change, and here we are.

I’ve been wanting to make a change in my life and career for some time, but (refer to above) I struggled with direction. I knew what I was good at, and I knew what I loved, I just didn’t know how to combine the two. And as I write this the world is literally crumbling, so, honestly, this – deciding to launch a solo career helping people build their brands – is one big and great leap into the abyss of change. And you know what? It feels good!

So like our dear Rosalyn, who later theatrically belts Live and Let Die while vacuuming her living room, ostensibly shedding the notion of her past life, I’m boldly charging forward. And while my quarantine hair may be a mess, my rouge will be perfectly applied.

Please welcome to the world AOK. At your service, doing great things.
